The interior is clean and unmarked. The cover shows some wear with a crease on the lower right corner. I would rate the cover Good and the interior Very Good. The binding is firm.
The book is a personal look at life inside The World of Mirth, an American traveling carnival/circus. Drawing from his own experiences, Goldsack describes the people, routines, and challenges of running a midway show, from setting up rides and games to moving from town to town. He focuses on everyday work, long hours, and the close-knit relationships that formed among show workers.
The book also reflects on how carnival life changed over time, as old traditions faded and modern business pressures grew. Told in clear, straightforward language, it serves as both a memoir and a record of a disappearing way of life, preserving the sights, sounds, and spirit of the World of Mirth Shows for readers interested in carnival and show history.
