Avlia 75% Laurel Oil Aleppo Soap contains exactly four ingredients: olive oil (Olea Europaea Fruit Oil), laurel berry oil (Laurus Nobilis Fruit Oil), water, and sodium hydroxide. Nothing else is added - no fragrance, no sulfates, no parabens, no palm oil, no colorants. What makes this bar different from other Aleppo soaps The laurel oil percentage is what varies between Aleppo soap bars. At 75%, this is the highest laurel oil content in the Avlia range. Laurel berry oil is cold-pressed from wild Laurus nobilis trees native to the Levant region. The naturally dark brown color and the earthy, forest-like aroma are both produced by the laurel oil - not by any additive or fragrance. How it is made Each bar is produced by Syrian refugee craftsmen in southern Turkey using the traditional Aleppo cold-process method: the oils are saponified, poured, hand-cut, and hand-stamped with a traditional Arabic seal. This production method has not changed in over three millennia. The white oxidation layer visible at the base of the stamp is a natural result of cold-process saponification - it is a sign of authentic production, not a defect.
